FREEDOM! In more ways than one!

Good Morning! Wouldn't you know that this morning I was watching a broadcast and this verse was highlighted: It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery. Galatians 5:1 Freedom! We have already been set free by the blood of Jesus and His saving grace, which means no matter who we are, or what we've done, we are saved. Do we walk out our freedom, though? THAT is a whole other issue. Look at what he says here: STAND FIRM and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery. If we are saved but living in "bondage," then how free are we really? The bondage of wrong thought patterns, the bondage of insecurity, the bondage of feeling like we never "measure up," the bondage of feeling unhealthy, the bondage of feeling weak or exhausted or just fill in the blank!!! Jesus died to set us free from all of that! We are not to be heavy with the yoke of slavery to any of those negative thought patterns or behaviors!!!! What an amazing freedom that is!!!! So, the question is HOW do we break free? By the Word of God which is more powerful than any two-edged sword!! For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart. Hebrews 4:12 HE can change our thoughts, our behaviors and our attitudes as we go to the Bible and apply the words there to our lives. Just starting there, perhaps google search the issue you are struggling with or look up in the back of the Bible the term you want more help with (for example: fear, strength, forgiveness) Then, write those words on paper, on your heart, say them out loud, whatever it takes! Watch as God transforms you and sets you free! It is for FREEDOM that Christ set us free. What a shame if we put ourselves in bondage and don't capitalize on the freedom He came to give us!
